What is ‘heART of Recovery’?
The Appalachian Arts Alliance is dedicated to delivering high-quality arts and cultural education, as well as community empowerment initiatives, to the Kentucky River Region. Our vision is to “Sustain and Inspire Appalachia’s Future through equitable access to Arts Education.” With the launch of the heART of Recovery program, we aim to provide inclusive arts opportunities for ALL members of the Kentucky River community.
heART of Recovery is a program where Appalachian Arts Alliance works with Recovery facilities in Perry County Kentucky and brings different art classes to their location. From visual arts to music, we provide each facility with a class they want for their participants.
October 2025, AAA launched with a Pilot Class teaching participants Watercolor. After seeing the success, began teaching regularly through 2026. To date, AAA has taught over 115 participants in Perry County Kentucky.
