Promoting Creative Expression

founded in 2013

Welcome

To Appalachian
Arts Alliance

located in downtown hazard

Appalachian Arts Alliance was founded in 2013 as a result of a community visioning session in Hazard, Kentucky. We learned people wanted and needed arts programming and education for all ages. In 2018, AppalArts hired its first Executive Director. Today, it remains primarily a community and volunteer driven organization but has added larger capacity projects.

Mission: “Appalachian Arts Alliance infuses education, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment to ensure the creative economy is a driving fore in redefining what is possible in Appalachia.”
