Community Arts & Design Associate

The Community Arts + Design Associate supports the Director of Education in developing, implementing, and promoting arts education offerings for existing and new members of the communities we serve.

  • Plan and implement new educational programs in the performing, visual, literary, and culinary
    arts;
  • Assess and strengthen existing programming in consultation with Arts Alliance leadership; and
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for practicing artists and designers, cultivating
    personal and organizational leadership skills in collaboration with UK Arts Extension and other
    organizational partners; and
  • Support the Arts Station facility, cleaning up after activities and classes, keeping workspace
    organized and presentable.
 

Instructor Positions

Instructor will teach weekly individual and/or group lessons through the Appalachian Arts Alliance. Instructor will choose the day(s) that work best for them and the students’ schedule as well as Appalachian Arts Alliance Schedule. Pricing, time limit, and scheduling is all negotiable between the Instructor and Appalachian Arts Alliance when chosen for this position. Instructor should be able to work with children and adults of all ages and make the space friendly and welcoming to all students. Instructor should be knowledgeable and have experience in playing the guitar. Teaching the basic chords, strumming, tuning, scales, etc.

Instructor does have the ability to choose between beginner- advanced levels of teaching but would prefer to be able to teach all levels

Instructor should be knowledgeable and have experience in playing piano. Instructor needs to be able to teach a beginner, intermediate, and advanced level. Teaching students how to play chords, read sheet music, scales, etc.

Instructor will teach weekly Group Classes through the Appalachian Arts Alliance. Instructor will choose the day(s) that work best for them and Appalachian Arts Alliance Schedule. Pricing, time limit, and scheduling is all negotiable between the Instructor and Appalachian Arts Alliance when chosen for this position. Instructor should be able to work with children and adults of all ages and make the space friendly and welcoming to all students.

Instructor should be knowledgeable in their skill. We are looking to hold classes for but not limited to – sketching/drawing, painting, sculpting, watercolor, pottery. AAA is open and welcoming to all forms of Art Instruction and Instructor is not limited to teach only 1 form of Visual Art through Appalachian Arts Alliance. Instructor needs to be able to teach a beginner, intermediate, and/or advanced levels.
